Call for the provision of Sales for Advertising & Sponsorship Services - (Closed)

Festivals Malta Agency, the national agency to nurture creativity, professionalism, participation, and cultural education in arts festivals, requires the services for sales of advertising and sponsorship. The successful candidate shall serve the agency as a sales consultant under the supervision of the Head of the Agency.


The service shall be paid on a 3% commission on sales for 12 months which may be renewed for further one-year periods subject to performance by the successful applicant. Commission is paid against money collected from advertising and sponsorship sales.

Services to be provided


The successful applicant will be responsible:

  • To convince potential clients to purchase advertising space and ensure that existing clients remain satisfied with our advertising products and services.

  • Responsibilities include identify clients needs, researching competitors advertising services, products and prices, and responding to potential clients inquires.

  • Provide clients with cost estimates of the products or services required.

  • To be successful as an advertising sales representative, demonstrate effective communication skills and be able to build report with clients.

  • Building and sustaining long-lasting relationships with existing and potential clients

  • Conducting research on potential client’s products or services

  • Determining the geographic location of the majority of their target customers

  • Setting up meetings with potential clients to present advertising proposals and address their concerns

  • Persuading clients to purchase agency advertising services by communicating the benefits of various types of advertising.

  • Providing recommendations on suitable formats, advertising mediums and font sizes

  • Preparing advertising and sponsorship materials for clients on PowerPoint and present to stakeholders accordingly.

The successful candidate must work within tight deadlines as required by the Contracting Authority.


Qualifications and experience required


  • A recognized qualification in marketing at MQF Level 5 or higher;


OR


  • A minimum of two years of experience in sales and marketing.


Submission of supporting documentation

Qualifications and experience claimed must be supported by certificates and/or testimonials, copies of which should be attached to the application. Scanned copies sent electronically are acceptable.


Original certificates and/or testimonials are to be invariably produced for verification at the interview.


Eligible applicants will be assessed by a Selection Board to determine their suitability for the post. The maximum mark for this selection process is 100% and the pass mark is 50%.


Criteria on which successful candidate shall be assessed

The successful candidate shall be evaluated according to the following criteria:

Relevant knowledge: 30%

Relevant Experience: 25%

Abilities: 20%

Qualifications: 20%

Personal Qualities: 5%

Short listed applicants will be required to attend for an interview.
