Għana mit-Tfal
We are encouraging kids to participate in this fun activity! This piece of Għana below about grandparents, was specially written by Etienne Pawney for the Għanafest Online festival. We have teamed up with guitarist Denise Cachia Vella who has created the backing track for this piece and we are inviting you to try to send us your best Għana.
Interested?
You will need two devices for this activity. Either 2 mobiles, or a mobile and a laptop.

If you are using two mobiles, connect your headphones to the first mobile and listen to the music provided while filming yourself singing the Ghanja with your other mobile

Ideally a mobile and laptop is used for the best quality. In this case, connect your headphones to the mobile and listen to the music provided. Film yourself singing the ghanja on the laptop.

Etienne Pawney
Etienne Pawney started to sing għana at the age of 11 and has been practicing this pastime for the last 20 years. From a very young age, Etienne used to accompany his father, Jimmy Pawney, during his għana sessions, sparking a passion for għana that keeps growing stronger by the years
Denise Cachia Vella
Also known as Denise Vella ta’ Kalc, Denise is known to accompany prime guitarists (prejjem) amongst għana communities. Daughter of prime guitarist Calcidon Vella ‘ta’ Mustaċċa’, Denise showed her interest for the instrument at the age of just 5 years old.

Kids, we have another exciting competition! What do you think of this small poem below:
